What is the prettiest Stitch? One of them is a shell stitch(or fan stitch), crochet motif. Shell stitches take the shape of arcs and semicircles, hence the name. A shell stitch is used as a border around other patterns. For example, an afghan or blanket. Staggered rows or rounds create a distinctive fabric pattern. Sweaters and hats are good examples. These steps are worked through both front and back loops and lie horizontally. What is crochet horizontal? They are the front and back loops of every worked stitch.

My version is a cross of a shell Stitch, fan, and scallop stitch. They have similarities in shape. However, mine pops up because instead of resting horizontally, it rests vertically around the post. The stitch has dimension and it pops with a noticeable look.

To begin, insert your crochet hook between the vertical post and the single strand yarn, next to the vertical post. The single-strand yarn comes from increasing in the previous round. The entire work with this crochet stitch is available in my Karen crochet beret hat pattern. Single crochet one between and through them. This gives it stability.

When you end this crochet shell stitch, double crochet 5 times around the post. Here are the steps how to double-crochet.

Yarn over.

Insert hook into the stitch where you want to place the dc stitch.

Yarn over again.

Pull through.

Yarn over again.

Pull through the first two of three loops on hook.

Yarn over again.

Pull through the remaining two loops on the hook.

Into the next stitch, repeat the same steps.

You can start this technique when you begin your crochet journey and become advanced. You can say my crochet patterns are not for beginners. Well, I'll have to admit they're not since I've crocheted for a long time. I used to latch hook with my grandma in summer times.

I didn't start crocheting till years later after she could no longer crochet after she had her stroke. She lost all movement. She would always crochet in front of the TV. She could never sit in front of it and not do a thing. She was often anxious to get some. We're anxious to get back home. Keyword: anxious. Anyway, back to this.

I would like to recommend 4-ply worsted weight acrylic yarn. The yarn that I use is I Love this Yarn at Hobby Lobby stores. It's only available in the United States. I like it because of the variety. You could also use Caron Simply Soft Yarn. It is very soft and has a vivid shine. I Love This Cotton works great too. The yarn is quite smaller.

I would like to recommend a smaller chain. Say for instance. You could use it whenever he for a more detailed pattern. It's wise to use a smaller yarn because of the finished stitches.

Are Tighter and stand out more than you would with a larger hook? So, for a worsted weight yarn, I would like to recommend a size 10, 10 and a half or better yet as size I-9 hook, five-point five millimeters.

Whenever working in a detailed decorative stitch, itÅ› always better to use a single color. Working in a multiple color yarn gets lost and appears busy, losing its appeal. The shell stitch in a single color creates a beautiful texture. Color is emphasized, but the texture is emphasized even more. The same principle goes for crocheting, a blanket, or a circular design such as a hat, or as a flower.
